MOUNTAIN RANGES
of the

Adirondacks

It may come as a surprise that the Adirondack Mountains contain seven distinct mountain ranges as well as many peaks that are solo, not a part of any of these ranges.  Below is the break-down of these various ranges.  Find the peak you want and click on the appropriate link to take you there.

  • Algonquin, Wright, Iroquois, and Marshall comprise the MACINTYRE RANGE

(Note:  Marshall, is isolated from its brothers and has its own page:  MARSHALL

  • Dix, Hough, South Dix, Macomb, East Dix comprise the DIX RANGE

  • The Great Range is typically thought of as a two-part deal:  Upper Range and Lower Range, so we've arranged them into two pages to coincide with how most people elect to hike them.

  1. UPPER RANGE: Haystack, Basin, and Saddleback

  2. LOWER RANGE:  Gothics, Armstrong, Upper Wolf Jaw, and Lower Wolf Jaw

* Not one of the 46, but a part of that range and well worth the climb
